Final Reminder - State Convention

The Libertarian Party of Indiana is hosting its' annual convention this weekend! All events will be held at the Drury Inn & Suites at Castleton.

Friday, April 23: Welcoming party, hosted by the Marion County Libertarians. Cash bar, open to the public. 7pm - ?

Saturday, April 24: Business meeting to nominate candidates for US Senate, US Representative, Indiana Senate, Indiana House, and statewide offices, notably Secretary of State. Also lunch & dinner speakers.

Sunday, April 25: Breakfast with LNC Chair candidate and 2008 LP Vice Presidential candidate Wayne Root.

County Convention Results

Our annual County Convention was held yesterday, and I can report with pride that it was the best attended Convention in the affiliate's history! Mark Rutherford gave an inspiring speech about the state of the national party and his candidacy for LNC Vice Chair, and we were honored to have State Chair Sam Goldstein and Executive Director Chris Spangle in attendance.

Important business was conducted. Notably, three candidates for office won nomination:

Lars Noldan, Fall Creek Township Trustee
Mike Kole, Hamilton County Council, District 2 (Fishers)
Joe Tucker, Hamilton County Council, District 3 (Noblesville)

I am excited to be on the November ballot with Lars and Joe! We will represent the party well, and give Hamilton County voters the opportunity to vote for limited government and personal responsibility this Fall!

Note: While the Convention is concluded, the County Chair can fill vacancies until the end of June. That will be a top priority. So, if you would like to run for office, it's not too late. Contact me (mikekole @ comcast . net) to get the process rolling. Getting candidates for office in the Carmel & Westfield areas is important.

In other business, I am proud to report that Hamilton County will send a full delegation to the Libertarian Party of Indiana's State Convention, April 23-25. The elected Delegates are:

John Rutherford
Rob Place
Mike Kole

Alternates: Pamela Noldan, Lars Noldan

The last news item is another exciting one that points to the organization's growth. Two new executives were elected to leadership positions in the county Party:

Pamela Noldan, Secretary

Along with Treasurer Rob Place, I am looking forward to working together as a team to advance the cause of Liberty in Hamilton County. With these great people, we're going to move forward in great strides!
